Cowgirl Up DT Card And Challenge Info

Hello my blogging friends,I hope you have all had a good day. This Sunday we have a great challenge for you at Cowgirl Up Designs Challenge Firstly there is a beautiful 'Sketch' that Alison done for us(Silly me forgot that part)and we want you to 'make your own DP'.Well not sure if you have noticed from my past entries but this is not something I usually do in fact its the first time I have made my own background crazy I know.

For my card I used this adorable image from Cowgirl Up designs Ranch he is called Silly Giraffe and can be purchased here.I have coloured him with promarkersand placed him onto a circle nestie diecut. For my background I took a small leaf stamp and randomly stamped all over some plain white card using 2 different green brilliance ink pads then I took Pine Needles distress ink and went all over the top putting a little more ink nearer the edges for a darker look.I also used the same leaf stamp to decorate the circle using just the edge of the leaf. For a first attempt I think its not all that bad but still theres room for improvement

This Sunday we are being sponsored by Michelle Perkett and wow there are some really beautiful images over there.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Hi Lorraine. Fabulous first background DP!! Using distress inks really helps to add some character. Another great thing about distressing edges is it helps to separate the different layers by giving them a matted look. The stamped border around the circle is excellent and I thought by adding just a touch of the same colour you used on the background around the edge of the circle would help tie the distressing all together and also make the circle 'pop' that little more. The giraffe is gorgeous y the way and a perfect sentiment. Thanks for joining our 2nd technique challenge. hugs xxoo
